Wisdom Teeth

As a person reaches young adulthood, their wisdom teeth may begin to emerge, causing pain, infection, and headaches. In many cases, this is because the teeth don’t have enough room to emerge fully, pressing on nearby teeth and sticking out of the gums just enough that they’re vulnerable to decay. In some cases, wisdom teeth are impacted, meaning that they try to emerge at an angle or are completely sideways. The optimal way to alleviate these symptoms is with wisdom teeth removal, an oral surgery that gives your smile enough room to be healthy and comfortable.

Dental Implants

When a patient loses one or more teeth, dental implants are the optimal way to restore functionality and appearance in the mouth. Dental implants are small titanium screws that are surgically placed inside the jaw. After a few months, bone begins to grow around these implants, securing them in place and making them a solid base for attaching a replacement tooth. The benefits of dental implants are numerous, as they preserve the jawbone to prevent changes to the facial profile, have extremely high success rates, and provide a secure and lasting fit in the mouth.

Jaw Surgery

For Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, and Norfolk patients who are having significant oral health concerns, corrective jaw surgery might be the answer. This is a tool our doctors use to correct misalignment of the jaws or other congenital defects so a patient can have a beautiful as well as functional smile. Overall, it’s an excellent way for patients to improve their bite, correct their breathing problems, and much more.
